James Paine Day at the Mansion House
The James Paine Open Day on the 17th of June will celebrate all things Georgian. You don’t need a ticket. Just come along at any time between 10.30 am and 3.30 pm. The Mansion House volunteers will be dressed up in Georgian costumes and there will be a series of Georgian tableaux and activities for you to enjoy. There will also be a talk by Meryl White on Georgian baking at 12 noon and 2 pm with cake tasting afterwards.
In addition to the above activities, the James Paine Exhibition and James Paine’s first book of engravings ( on the Mansion House published in 1751 ) and his second book of engravings ( published 1767) will be on display. Photographs of the engravings will also be on display. And of course there will be the Mansion House to explore. I do hope that you will be able to come and join us on the day.
